Greetings from the crew at Spring House Farm! We hope you all had a grand holiday season and a better 2011.
Farm news: So far here on the farm, this winter season has been more like spring. No snow or ice so far has allowed our guests to more around more easily on the farm and enjoy the area. Our trails are open and have given our guests some great opportunities to photograph and enjoy the natural beauty of the farm. In the winter, remember that the leaves are off the trees and the “through the woods” visibility is great. Speaking of our “Big rock Trail”, while it may seem a little thing, I have placed a picnic table about halfway along the 2.5 mile trail offering a nice place to take a break and enjoy the view. I have a new motion operated infra red new game camera that I will be posting pictures on the farm’s Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/springhousefarm. The hope is to “capture” some pictures of some of our more elusive wildlife residents.
Future plans: We are hoping to restore our dairy barn est c.1780 and creating a new cabin. This log structure was located here on the farm and moved a short distance and served as the dairy barn. It’s a genuine story and one half Appalachian cabin. There’s a place on the farm overlooking a deep gorge and stream that will make a great location.
Direct TV: For you folks that will be staying with us but think will be missing that program or sporting event on television, not to worry! For a nominal charge, I will have a Direct TV dish set up and ready to go upon your arrival. Pop corn included!
Fishing Report: All our ponds are full of fish and ready to catch… and release. Bring your gear and hang out in one of our gazebo’s and enjoy the action. Artificial folks bring your own but natural bait anglers not to worry. Plenty of night crawlers are available at Rita’s Country Store or I can provide a shovel for you “dig your own” anglers.
Pet policy: We have expanded our pet policy and are allowing our well behaved and house broken over fifteen months canine friends here at the farm. Animals must be leashed on the walking trails and around other guests. (Please leave your animal in your vehicle during the check in process!) Check out our official pet policy link.
Facebook: Don’t forget to ‘Like’ us on the farms own Face Book page where one can find current farm news and special deals! http://www.facebook.com/springhousefarm
We here at the farm wish you all a happy and prosperous 2012 and beyond. When you need a break from your life in the real world and need some quiet down time, think of us. We will be here with smiling, welcoming faces with your cabin key ready.f
Peace y’all.
